Graeme Stephen Quintet - Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans (U)
Director: Frank Murnau   Runtime: 94 minutes

Sat 12th Nov, 7:45pm Book Tickets

Considered by many to be the finest silent film ever made by a Hollywood studio, Frank Murnau's Sunrise represents the art of wordless cinema at its pinnacle. The Oscar winning film's narrative concerns a married man who falls for a slatternly woman from the city; once under her spell the woman attempts to persuade him to drown his wife.

Award-winning Aberdeen-born guitarist Graeme Stephen has composed a powerful new score that brings a radically modern perspective to accompany Murnau's visual masterpiece. Harnessing influences from various musical styles including Folk, Classical and Jazz and featuring the scintillating instrumental talents of Chris Stout (violin), Ben Davis (cello), Phil Bancroft (saxophone) and Chris Wallace (drums/percussion) this is sure to be a unique and exciting aural and visual event.
