Kosmos (15)
Director: Raha Erdem   Runtime: 122 minutes

Sun 13th Nov, 5:00pm Book Tickets

Set in an old town in the snow covered Turkish mountains, Kosmos tells the story of a small-time thief (the ‘Kosmos’ of the title) who becomes something of a local hero when he rescues a young child from drowning, cures an old lady of her ills and then announces that what he really wants is love.

This is a strangely captivating and imaginative film that will confuse and amaze in equal measure.

Turkish cinema has been on the rise over the past decade, Reha Erdem, alongside directors such as Nuri Bilge Ceylan and Fatih Akin, has been one of the main exponents of this new wave of cinema from Turkey. His previous films; Time And Winds and What Is A Human Anyway? both won awards worldwide. Kosmos has followed on this tradition winning awards both in Turkey and abroad.
